Wareham Police arrested 29 alleged criminals in a 10-day law enforcement initiative targeting people with outstanding warrants and drug law violators.

The initiative began on June 19, and police reported on June 19 that 22 people had been arrested due to outstanding warrants.

Outstanding warrant charges ranged from failure to pay fines and probation violations to larceny, assaults, and robberies, police said in a statement.

On June 20, police arrested and charged two men with possession and distribution of cocaine while executing a search warrant at Brandy Hill apartments, and on June 26, police charged two men with possession of heroin and cocaine in Shangri-la.

Police also nabbed three people during a motor vehicle stop during the initiative, charging them with various drug violations, according to a statement.

Police Chief Richard Stanley said in a statement that the department would continue to take "aggressive action ... to rid the streets of Wareham [of] criminal activity."
