Wareham resident listed as number one on statewide "Most Wanted" list
Jeffrey Wood, a man whose last known address is in Wareham, is number one on the Massachusetts Probation Service's "Most Wanted" list of statewide probation violators.
Wood, 54, has been been missing since 1997 and is being sought by Plymouth Superior Court for rape of a child with force. He also has a previous conviction for assault and battery on a police officer. Wood goes by the aliases of Jeffrey Millette, Bo Beauregard, Jeffery Beauregard, and Bo Woods.
The "Most Wanted" List describes Wood as 5'8" tall and 155 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He wears glasses and has scars on his back, eye, and face and tattoos on his left and right arms.
This is the second list the Massachusetts Probation Service has released this year. The list features offenders with an extensive history of "violent and assaultive" behavior. Probationers include a level-3 sex offender and those convicted for home invasion, armed assault to murder, armed robbery, and rape of a child with force.
"It is our top priority to find these individuals and bring them back before the court," said Chief Probation Officer Joseph Jackson, who coordinates the list. "We are seeking help from the public to find these individuals. Tips, calls, and e-mails from the public during our last Most Wanted release are what led to the successful apprehension of offenders. Therefore, we are appealing to the public once again."
Jackson acknowledged the Massachusetts State Police, U.S. Marshal's Service, and police departments, locally and across the country, for their help in the effort.
