Wareham Village Association plans Christmas events, next year’s Oyster Festival
Tis almost the season!
The Wareham Village Assiciation is currently making plans for the annual "Tis the Season" Christmas Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. along Main Street. The Association hopes to double the size of last year's parade.
Prior to the parade will be the Christmas on Main Street event that features an open house at select shops from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A bit sooner this fall is the Trick or Treat on Main Street event which will take place on Halloween, Oct. 31., from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
The event promotes a safe halloween for Wareham children. Local businesses can contact the Village Association if there are any special events planned.
The Association is also in the process of putting together the second annual Scarecrow Contest. The Association co-sponsors this event with the Onset Bay Association. There is no fee to enter the contest but applications are required and can be found on either the Village Association or Bay Association website.
Looking to next year, the Village Association has confirmed that the Wareham Oyster Festival will be come an annual event. The Association is aiming for Sunday, May 3, 2015 to host the morning 5k and kick off a week of Oyster activities.
