Twenty-five-year-old  Danielle R. Romanseki of 143 Hathaway Street was arrested in Mashpee on Saturday, August 24, on a charge of possession of heroin, according to the Mashpee Police Department.

Mashpee Police responded to a report of "suspicious activity" in the parking lot of Dino's Pizza and Sports Bar in Mashpee.

Romanseki and an unnamed passenger were questioned, and Romanseki was found to be in possession of heroin, according to police.

The passenger was not charged.

Captain Scott Carline of the Mashpee Police Department said that the police are on heightened alert regarding drug activity, following a rash of non-fatal overdoses.

"We've been having a number of overdoses in the Mashpee Commons area, so the officers have been very vigilant," said Carline. "We've had three over the last three weeks."

Romanseki has a pretrial hearing scheduled for September 18 in Falmouth District Court.
