Wareham Youth Soccer Club travel soccer tryouts on Oct. 3
Tryouts for Wareham Youth Soccer Club’s spring 2022 travel teams will be held Sunday, Oct. 3 with the goal of starting new teams for boys and girls in Grade 2 and above.
Tryouts will be held at Westfield on Charlotte Furnace Road in West Wareham. Players are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in. Tryout times vary based on players’ ages:
Players currently in Grades 2: 9 to 9:45 a.m.
Players currently in Grades 3 and 4: 10-10:45 a.m.
Players currently in Grades 5 and 6: 11-11:45 a.m.
Players currently in Grades 7 and 8: 12-12:45 p.m.
Older grade players should contact their past coach, or the coach will contact them.
The spring travel teams are affiliated with the South Coast Soccer League. The season will begin in March and end in June. Each team will play an eight-game schedule, with four travel games and four home games.
The farthest games typically require about an hour of travel, but games are also played on the islands. Games are played on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the team.
Following tryouts, players will be contacted with registration information. All registrations must be completed by Dec. 1, 2021, so that Wareham Youth Soccer Club can declare its teams with the South Coast Soccer League.
From October to December registration costs $110. From January to February, late registration will cost $130. Registering later than March will cost $150.
Players will be expected to wear the Wareham Youth Soccer Club’s blue travel kit, which can be purchased through the store on the club’s website http://www.warehamsoccer.com/Site/WYSC-Store.
The full kit includes a jersey, shorts, socks and a second practice jersey. Players will coordinate their uniform numbers with their coach.
