Watch falling stars!

Aug 10, 2010

Head outside late Thursday evening, August 12, and get ready for a light show in the sky! The constellation, Perseus, will rise around 11 p.m in the northeast, and the annual Perseid meteor shower will peak from that area between midnight and dawn on August 13.

At least 80 meteors per hour should display during the peak, according to NASA. The moon will set before the shower starts, which should create ultimate viewing conditions, as long as the weather stays clear. Forecasts are currently calling for partly cloudy skies.
