WCTV holds festive open house

The weather inside was anything but frightful as residents visited WCTV's open house on Saturday.

Guests were treated to baked goods and a tour of the television studio.

"The only thing we require is that you smile," WCTV executive director and event photographer Steve Ruiz said to the Coryer family gathering for a photo.

The Coryers decided to visit the studio to get family photos taken for their annual Christmas card.

"We found out about this event at the Christmas parade," Christine Coryer said, as her husband picked the photo background. "It was good timing, because we hadn't taken our Christmas picture yet."

Those attending and taking their family photo were given a 20 percent discount on a print of Christmas cards at Staples. They chose from an array of backgrounds, such as Northern Lights, snowflakes and a classic Christmas living room setting – the background the Coryers chose, which ended up being a favorite of many attendees.

"We love having people come to the studio," said Ruiz. "We feel we are helping the town through this station and we will be doing a lot more."
