William Tocci, 89
William “Bill” M. Tocci, 89, of Onset and Millis, formerly of Needham, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29. For 65 years, he was the beloved husband of Margaret “Dutchie” Tocci (Praetsch) who predeceased him in 2015. Bill had an honorable career as a firefighter and retired 29 years ago as the deputy chief of the Needham Fire Department.
Bill is survived by his two sons Ralph Tocci and wife Judy of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Sagamore, Raymond Tocci and wife Kathy of Millis. He was the beloved “Buppy” to five grandchildren and their spouses: Matthew and Katie Tocci of Hickory, North Carolina and Michael and Bethany Tocci of Bangor, Maine. Janette and Anthony Lima of Holliston, Samantha and Jacob Scoppetto of Medway and Meredith and Christopher Tahan of Millis. “Buppy” was the treasured great grandfather of Anthony, Christopher and Caroline Tocci, Charlie and Grant Tocci, Nicholas and Vincent Lima, Angelina, James and Adam Scoppetto, and Juliana Tahan; he was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his parents Lena and Matthew Tocci, sister Rita Coppola, and his grandson, Nicholas Tocci.
A private funeral service will be held, Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller St, Medfield. Internment in Vine Lakes Cemetery, Medfield will follow.
