Woodland Cove secures MassHousing funds

Dec 7, 2021

Dakota Partners, the company building 150 new apartments in the Woodland Cove development on Red Brook Road, has secured $9 million in funding from MassHousing.

The development, located on an eight-acre site, will be constructed in three phases.

“Woodland Cove is going to provide brand new, affordable rental homes for individuals and families who want to live in Wareham and work on the Southcoast,” said MassHousing Executive Director Chrystal Kornegay. “MassHousing is pleased to be part of this exciting effort to create new housing opportunities in Wareham.”

Dakota Partners principal Roberto Arista said that the development will “fill a critical void of affordable housing in Wareham and provide safe and comfortable homes to individuals and families who might otherwise be priced out of the area.”

The homes are designed to be energy-efficient, and many of the units will be restricted to those in specific income brackets.

Work is currently underway at the site.
