Youngest Veterans Council member recognized

Jan 25, 2017

The Wareham Board of Selectmen took time during its Tuesday night meeting to recognize Wareham High School student Tyler Litchfield with a plaque commemorating his service to the Wareham Veteran’s Council.

Litchfield, a junior, recently ended a 15-month stint representing Wareham High’s Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps on the Wareham Veterans Council. He was an associate member, and the youngest member of the nine-person council, which includes veterans of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His parents, Brian and Nicole Litchfield, were in attendance for the honor.

Selectman Peter Teitelbaum thanked Litchfield for his work, specifically in identifying the graves of veterans, but also for his dedication and participation in council affairs.

Selectmen Chair Judith Whiteside commended Litchfield.

“He is truly one of Wareham’s finest,” she said as she awarded him the plaque.
