The Friends of the Wareham Community Pathway seeks members who want to help bring the project to fruition.

The Friends of the Pathway is raising funds to build a 12-mile, multi-use bike and walking path that ideally connects to the Marion Bike Path on Old County Road in West Wareham and passes through Wareham to the Bourne town line on Cranberry Highway in Buzzards Bay.

The first phase of the 5-phase project is nearly completed and included the striping of Onset Avenue to allow a share-the-road pathway for bike riders.

Planning of the second phase — the engineering and design of a road share beginning at the intersection of Sandwich Road and Narrows Road/Minot Avenue to the Onset Avenue bike line — is underway.
