The results are in… and noticeable. Minot Forest Elementary has won the first ever Superintendent’s Challenge.

Earlier this fall, each of the schools in the district were invited to take on the challenge, in which Superintendent Kimberly Shaver-Hood asked staff and students to create an inviting entryway, create captivating, education-stimulating halls and walls and have staff engage parents.

Decas Elementary, Wareham High School, the Wareham Cooperative School, and the East Wareham Early Childhood Center, in addition to Minot Forest, participated.

The high school added student-made paintings. The Cooperative school added fresh paint and a mural. East Wareham Ealry Childhood center had walls featuring the favorite books of its staff. Decas Elementary went with a beach-themed entry, featuring crab nets and sand.

Decas featured newly planted tulips, fresh paint, among other things.

Forest Elementary earned a breakfast for the win.

Judges included Selectman Peter Teitelbaum, Liam McKenna and Pat Haskell of the Wareham Fire Department.
