Guy Charles Stephens, 70, of Plymouth died Friday, May 23 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Germain L. (Renaud) Stephens.

Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Robert Stephens and Charlotte (Waldschmidt) Reed and was the step-son of the late Pauline Stephens.

Mr. Stephens served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He served aboard the USS Stickell (DD/DDR 888). After his service in the Navy, he served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard at the Otis Air Force Base in Bourne.

Mr. Stephens was an insurance agent for Bankers Life and Casualty for many years. He enjoyed travelling, cruising and was an avid reader and puzzle-maker. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks # 1548.

Survivors include his wife, Germaine; two sons, Chuck Stephens and his wife Betsy of E. Wareham and Michael and his wife Susan of Bourne; his brother, Barry Stephens of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Lyn Patton of Palm Bay, FL and Belle Lamb of Ft. Mohave, AZ; his step-brother, Robert Stephens of Grayslake, IL; four grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Jr., Brandan and Sean. He was predeceased by his daughter, the late Carrie Lynn Stephens.

His funeral service will be held on Wed., May 28 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
