Noonan in talks to become Decas principal

Jun 10, 2014

According to Wareham Public Schools Superintendent Kimberly Shaver-Hood, the principal position at John W. Decas Elementary may soon be filled by Falmouth elementary school principal Donna Noonan.

"We have offered the position and are now in the final stages of contract talks," said Shaver-Hood, who declined to comment further until the position has been finalized.

Noonan, a Falmouth resident and current principal of the Mullen-Hall School in Falmouth, has not responded to requests for comment.

If hired, Noonan would succeed Dr. Christine M. Panarese as the principal of Decas. Panarese, who has served as Decas' principal since 2010, did not respond to a request for comment. She will reportedly be moving on to a position in Wareham's central administrative offices.

Noonan holds a master's degree from the University of New Hampshire. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Bridgewater State University, where she also served on the faculty as an adjunct professor. Noonan is a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Outside of her accomplishments in education, Noonan is also on the Board of Directors of Wings for Falmouth Families, a charity based in Falmouth.
