UPDATE: Man dies a week after being struck by vehicle on Cranberry Highway
A Plymouth man died at Rhode Island Hospital as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a motor vehicle on Cranberry Highway on July 28, according to Wareham Police.
Arthur Myatt, 50, was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the road in the vicinity of the Buttermilk Bay Inn on the night of Monday, July 28.
Officers were dispatched to the Buttermilk Bay Inn at 3224 Cranberry Highway at 10:30 p.m. Monday night following a report of a disturbance at the business by an intoxicated man. While en route to the location, officers were notified that the man had been struck by a vehicle.
Myatt was brought to Tobey Hospital after being treated by Wareham EMS. He was then airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital via Med-Flight. Ten days later
Police said the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Michael McKenna Jr. of Sagamore Beach, cooperated with officers at the scene of the accident.
Investigation of the incident is ongoing by the Wareham Police Department and the Massachusetts state Police.
