Mark Anthony Johnson passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on September 19 after a short illness.

Mark was born in Quincy.  He lived in California as a young boy and returned in the late 1960s to settle in Wareham for the remainder of his life.

He owned his own painting business, Good as Gold painting, for many years. He was a member of the Elks for 25 years.

He enjoyed the ocean, fishing, biking and football. He was extremely helpful to anyone who needed it, and was generous with his time.

He is survived by his two sons, Alexander M. and Zachary E. Johnson of Wareham, his mother, Barbara Hultgren of Buzzards Bay; a brother, Glen Johnson of Buzzards Bay; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony at the Wareham Lodge of Elks on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. The family would like to encourage donations to the Visiting Nurses Association in lieu of flowers at: Community Affairs, 200 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02790.
