Woman trapped after car flips on Cranberry Highway

A woman was transported to the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Rhode Island Hospital following a single-vehicle rollover on Cranberry Highway Thursday evening that left her trapped inside the vehicle.

Wareham police reported that the unidentified 60-year-old lost control of a sedan-type vehicle while traveling eastbound at approximately 5:20 in the area of Lindsey's Restaurant. The vehicle veered to the opposite side of the roadway and overturned.

Police have not identified the woman, and said the extent of her injuries were unknown. There were reportedly no passengers in the vehicle, and no other cars were involved.

Personnel from the Wareham Police Department, the Onset Fire Department, and Wareham EMS all responded to the accident.

According to police, further information regarding the motor vehicle accident will be provided when available. The accident investigation is being conducted by patrol officers of the Wareham Police Department.
