A man wanted for armed robbery of a Tedeschi’s and a Citizens Bank in New Bedford was arrested at the Rosewood Motel on May 21, according to the Wareham Police Department.

Police said they assisted detectives from the New Bedford Police Department in the execution of a search warrant for suspect Joseph Coito, 19, at the Rosewood Motel.

Police said detectives found Coito, and arrested him without incident. Evidence connected to both robberies was found, during a search of Coito’s motel room. Coito is currently homeless, police said.

Coito was booked at the Wareham Police Department, and then transported to the New Bedford Police Department. He will be arraigned at the New Bedford District Court.
