Raymond F. Gauvin, 89

Raymond F. Gauvin, 89, of West Wareham formerly of Franklin, passed away Sunday June 14, at Tobey Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Gauvin was the husband of Mary L. Gauvin of West Wareham. Mr. Gauvin was born in Millville, Massachusetts the son of the late Eugene and Margaret (Miles)

A 1943 graduate of Blackstone/Millville High School, Mr. Gauvin was a WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy for more than years and attaining the rank of Chief.

He retired from the Navy and became a communications manager for Verizon. He was employed at Verizon’s learning and training center in Marlboro. He enjoyed history, model ship building and golf.

Mr. Gauvin is survived by his children; Susan Moir and her husband John of Franklin and David Gauvin and his wife Ann of Arizona. He was the brother of Mary Gauvin of Millville and Leo Gauvin of California. Grandfather of Caitlin, Ellen, Andrew and Amy, Great Grandfather of Elliot and Samuel and uncle of Steven, Michael and Robert.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 18, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center St. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Committal services with Military Honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery 1 Bennington Blvd in Bourne.
