Library to host annual murder mystery
The Wareham Free Library will be holding its annual murder mystery at the library's main branch Jan. 29.
The show will start at 6:30 p.m. Directed by Selectman Judy Whiteside, local actors will be putting on the mystery-comedy, "And Then There Was One," by playwright Michael Druce. The cast includes locals Pat Rumney, Traci Medeiros, Kat Jones, Rose Berry, Deborah Rose, Peter Dunlop, Geoff Swett, Peter Teitelbaum, Mel Lazarus, and Henry St. Julian.
Tickets are $25, and are available for sale at both the Main Library and the Spinney Branch. Refreshments will be served and guests will enjoy live and silent auctions.
There will also be a live auction, featuring a variety of prizes.
Among the offerings are a week's stay in an English country cottage in East Sussex, about 50 miles southeast of London. There is also a stay at the Royal Islander Club LaPlage on the island of St. Maarten.
For those who aren't travelers, but are music lovers, there are other prizes, such as three sets of tickets to the New Bedford Symphony at the Zeiterion; an acoustic guitar; and an Elvis collector plate, with its original certificate.
Other prizes include a book gift basket, and a set of Charles Dickens novels, as well as salt water fishing rods, dolls, necklaces, gift certificates, and local business gift baskets.
The auction takes place on Friday night at the Library at 6:30 p.m., as part of the Murder Mystery.
