Kids and cards at the Wareham Free Library
Kids learned how to catch ‘em all – even without Master Pokeballs – at the Wareham Free Library Saturday morning.
Cape Cod Collectibles held a Pokemon card game fundraiser to benefit the library. The game is part of a media franchise, which started as two video games in the 1990s in Japan.
Though owner Eric Guillory put it on at his own expense, all profits went to the library, for which librarian Deb Rich said she was grateful.
“At $5 a person, this was very generous of him,” Rich said, looking around the room at the more than 20 children who were intent on the cards in front of them.
Michelle Murray brought her sons, who had never played Pokemon before – “we just have cards from McDonald’s.”
“He almost has the full attention span for a whole game,” Murray said of her 5-year-old son Killian, as he showed her a pack of cards he won for participating.
