Rep. Susan Gifford to hold senior CharlieCard event
Representative Susan Williams Gifford will hold a senior CharlieCard event for the town on April 1.
A CharlieCard is the card used to ride Boston-area trains. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Wareham Senior Center, and is provided by the state’s Department of Transportation. It is meant to offer senior citizens (people aged 65 and older) the ability to apply for a reduced-fare CharlieCard, without having to travel to Boston.
Gifford said there will be plenty of applications at the event for people who may want to apply, but haven’t yet contact her office. Any senior who wishes to apply must have a valid, New England-issued ID.
For more information, contact Rep. Gifford’s Boston office at 617-722-2100, her District Office at 508-295-5999, or e-mail her at Susan.Gifford@mahouse.gov.
