High wind warning in Massachusetts
The National Weather Service has posted a high wind warning for Cape Cod and the Islands effective until 7 p.m.
Other affected areas include northeastern Connecticut, all of Rhode Island, and Central and Eastern Massachusetts.
With northwest winds steady between 20 and 25 mph, and gusts reaching up to 50 and 60 mph, the strongest winds will be across Cape Cod and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) report.
These winds will result in some downed trees and scattered power outages. Wet snow from this morning will make trees more susceptible to damage through early afternoon.
The NWS advises residents to secure any loose outdoor objects.
Ocean effect snow showers may affect our area on Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to the report.
