Isabel (Burgo) Duarte, 86, of Middleboro passed away May 8 after a long illness. She was born April 1, 1930 in New Bedford. Isabel retired as a supervisor at Cliftex Clothing Company. She was also an active member of The Salvation Army Church of New Bedford and was a member of a local softball team up until her retirement. Isabel enjoyed sports and attending sporting events that her grandchildren were involved in.

Wife of the late Joseph F Duarte Sr. and daughter of the late Leopold and Rose (Rodrigues) Burgo, she was the mother of the late Joseph F. Duarte Jr. Bella was the sister of the late Leopold Jr., Alfred, Joseph, John, Arthur, Beldwin Burgo and Kilda Filkins.

Survivors include her sisters Mary Smith, Anna Silva, Laura Silva, and Manny Burgo. Surviving children include Gale Pires, Brenda Zaragoza, Taneisha, Carl and Nicole Pina.

She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. She will be deeply missed.
