The Wareham Police Department is advising citizens that 44-year-old Paul Sheehan, of 3036 Cranberry Highway, Water’s Edge Trailer Park, trailer #5, has registered with the Wareham Police Department as a Level 3 sex offender.

On January 5, 1999, Sheehan was convicted in Plymouth Superior Court of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age, and rape and abuse of a child. He served 13 years in jail, according to a Wareham police press release.

Sheehan was released from prison on Jan 5. He is currently serving five years of probation.

Sheehan has been designated as a Level 3 Sex Offender by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board. The board has determined that he is at high risk to re-offend, and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification.
