A 26-year-old East Wareham man was arrested Friday following a narcotics distribution investigation, according to police.

Wareham police executed a search warrant at 1 Rickey Lane in East Wareham at 7:30 a.m. Inside a bedroom at the home, police said they found 8 grams of fentanyl, which is an opioid more potent than heroin, 19 amphetamine pills, digital scales and plastic bags.

As a result of the search, William Affonso was arrested. He was arraigned at Wareham District Court on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (fentanyl) and possession of a Class C substance (amphetamine).

Police said no other residents at the address were arrested for drug offenses.
