Minot Forest students ease first day anxiety

The first day jitters won’t be so bad for many Minot Forest Elementary School students when they return to classes on Aug. 29.

The Parent Teacher Organization sponsored its third “Back to School Night” on Thursday, which allowed kids a sneak peek at their classrooms for the new year.

“When students know exactly where their classroom is on the first day it relieves a lot of nervousness,” said Principal Joan Seamans.

At 5:30 p.m., a large crowd of eager parents and kids streamed into the school searching classrooms and accepting free pencils and other tokens being given away by PTA members.

Third grade student Christian Mayo, alongside his future classmates, left notes with their hopes for the new year on the wall outside their classroom.
