There was a time not too long ago when neighboring high schools spoke about "how cool" the Wareham High School building is.

That's one thing that Colleen Kirby, who's been a teacher at Wareham High School for 30 years, remembered when the building was erected 25 years ago.

"I remember the school smell and thought, 'This is so awesome and it's so beautiful with all the colors'," she said. "And honestly, it hasn't changed that much."

Past and present principals also reminisced their years at Wareham High School during the celebration of its 25th year on Thursday afternoon.

Throughout the years, one thing remained the same for all principals and teachers.

"The kids, they're the best," said current principal Scott Palladino. "They're what keep people here."

In the foyer of the high school where the gymnasium and auditorium doors are, teachers, principals, students, and faculty gathered to hear from several speakers commemorating the building before cutting a "birthday" cake.

Though the building itself is 25 years old, the Wareham High School used to be held inside the current middle school.
