Jacob M. Canedy, 28, of Wareham died Feb. 2 in Tobey Hospital. He was the son of Phillip F. Canedy, Sr. and Kathleen M. (Smith) Canedy.

He was born in Falmouth and lived in Wareham all his life. He graduated from Upper Cape Cod Technical High school.

Jacob worked as a crab fisherman aboard the FV American Beauty in the Sandwich Marina. He took great pride in his work.

He enjoyed listening to music, especially jazz and rap. He was a kind person and enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his parents, Phillip F. Canedy, Sr. and Kathleen M. (Smith) Canedy of East Wareham; two sisters, Tiffany Canedy of East Wareham and Trisha Canedy of Virgina; a brother, Phillip F. Canedy, Jr. of East Wareham; his grandmother, Eva Kellick of East Wareham; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

His services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
