Jacqueline Slaney, 70
Jacqueline M. (Gillis) Slaney, 70, of Deltona, Florida formerly of Plymouth and Wareham died Feb. 18 at home. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (McDonough) Gillis.
She was born in Boston, raised in Needham, and later lived in Plymouth and Wareham for many years before moving to Deltona in 2012. She was a homemaker who raised her children and then became an adored grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved their visits immensely. Ms. Slaney also loved history and was an avid dog lover. She leaves behind her prized pug named Mitzy.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Slaney of Plymouth, Peter Slaney of Wareham, and Eric Slaney of Grafton; two brothers, Paul Gillis of Middleboro and George Gillis of Norton; a sister, Barbara Martin of Middleboro; a beloved aunt, Patricia Brannen of Deltona, Floida; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Shannon, Allison, Brendan, Madison, Ryan, and Nathan; and many nephews and nieces. She was the mother of the late Kimberly (Slaney) Bimshas.
Her graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1 in Chiltonville Cemetery, Plymouth.
