Patricia (Conway-Loxley) Manuel, 73, died Wednesday, March 30 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the wife of the late Silvino “Sal” Manuel.
Born in Malden the daughter of the late Mary (Lundblad) and Joseph Conway, she was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. Her secretarial career spanned many companies, including: Cornwell’s Dept. Store in Wareham, Milton Bradley Co., in Springfield, the U.S.A.F. in Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany, Frances Associates and Thompson Consultants in Marion, and the school departments in Wareham and Rochester.
During the 1970s, Mrs. Manuel and her family owned and operated the Highlands Ski Area in Northfield, NH where they cultivated many friends and happy memories.
She leaves behind her much-loved family, Joseph “Bud” Loxley and his wife Leah and grandson Evan; her brother, Joseph Conway, her sisters, Claire Smith and Betty Ann Roderick all of Wareham; her brother in-law, Howard Smith; her stepdaughter, Laurie Hill and her husband Greg of Northfield, NH; her stepson Donald Manuel and his wife Shirley of Bellingham, WA and their children: five nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Conway.
Her funeral was held Apr. 4 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. Patrick’s Church on High Street. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
