Past, present Patriots cheerleaders reunite to perform

Aug 30, 2017

Among the former Patriots cheerleaders from the past six decades coming together this week will be Wareham’s own Tricia Brogioli and Carolee Salerno.

Brogioli cheered for the Patriots from 1992 to 1996 along with her twin sister Tracey.

“This is the first time the alumni has had the opportunity to perform at a game,” said Brogioli. “We are happy to be on the field and reunite with long time friends and teammates.”

Brogioli’s husband David is a teacher at Wareham Middle School and is the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Wareham High School. They have three children attending Wareham Public Schools – Grace, Ben and Ava, who will all be at the upcoming game to cheer on Brogioli.

Brogioli and Salerno will join Patriots cheerleaders from as far back as the 1960s and current cheerleaders at a ceremony before the New England Patriots preseason finale against the New York Giants on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.

More than 200 alumni cheerleaders will perform. Women from all decades have held practices throughout the summer to prepare for the performance.

The event will conclude with a formal banquet on Sept. 1 at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Norwood. The banquet will celebrate experiences from 55 years of cheering, including charitable appearances, overseas military tours and Super Bowl performances. The celebration will include a cocktail reception, dinner, a slideshow video documenting Patriots Cheerleaders from past and present, a fashion show of uniforms throughout the years and dancing.
