Sep 25, 2017

Two drivers were cited following a car versus scooter crash Sept. 24 that ended with a 35-year-old Buzzards Bay man being medflighted to Rhode Island Hospital.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in front of Wendy’s on Cranberry Highway.

Police said David Desantis was traveling south on Cranberry Highway when Cameron McPartmand, 21, of Wellfleet, made a left hand turn into the Wendy’s parking lot and hit Desantis, who appeared to suffer a broken leg as a result.

Police cited McPartmand for failure to use care when making the turn and Desantis received a citation for operating the scooter with a revoked driver’s license.

Police are also investigating if Desantis was driving the scooter with its headlights on or not.
