Family Friday explorations offered in October

Oct 11, 2017

A series of three free outings hosted by the Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Wareham Land Trust will be held this month. Through games and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the Buzzards Bay region’s animals, plants and habitats. All programs run from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

On Oct. 13, learn how to make your own fishing pole and then try at fishing in the Weweantic River at Horseshoe Mill, located at the end of Station Street, Wareham.

On Oct. 20, explore the plants and animals that live near a salt marsh during Marsh Madness at the Lyman Reserve, located at 110 Red Brook Road, Plymouth.

And on Oct. 27, learn how to use a compass and navigate the trails through the woods during Orienteering at Minot Forest, located at 63 Minot Avenue, Wareham.

Family Fridays are recommended for families with elementary school-aged children.

Registration is required for each program. To RSVP, visit www.savebuzzardsbay.org/events/ or contact the Buzzards Bay Coalition at 508-999-6363 ext. 219 or bayadventures@savebuzzardsbay.org.
