Deadline for cranberry cooking contest submissions on Nov. 12

The A.D. Makepeace Company, in conjunction with the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers’ Association, Trucchi’s Supermarkets and edible South Shore & South Coast magazine, are seeking entries for the 9th Annual “Make it Better with Cranberries” cooking contest.

Recipes must include a cranberry product: fresh cranberries, cranberry juice, dried cranberries, or prepared cranberry sauce. The contest is open to all ages and skill levels.

First, second and third place prize-winners will be selected in both the adult and student/youth (ages 8 to 16 years old) category. Selected recipes will also be printed in the 2018 Edition of the “Make it Better with Cranberries” cookbook, published by Rock Village Publishing, Middleborough.

Examples from last year’s winning recipes included cranberry pineapple salsa, cranberry orange turnovers, cranberry apple stuffed pork loin, and cranberry glazed chicken wings.

Entries must be dropped off on Sunday, Nov. 12 at one of the following locations: Makepeace Farms, 146 Tihonet Road, Wareham from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Trucchi’s Supermarket, 534 County St. (Route 140), Taunton from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Trucchi’s Supermarket, 438 West Grove St. (Route 28), Middleborough from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
