Gertrude-Ann (Hart) Towns, 75, of West Wareham died Nov. 6 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Benjamin W. Towns, III and the daughter of the late Ernest and Alena C. (Hill) Hart.

She was born in New Britain, Connecticut and lived in Walpole before moving to Wareham 54 years ago.

Mrs. Towns worked as a secretary at Compass Bank for many years before retiring.

She enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Benjamin W. Towns, III; a daughter, Melissa Mears of Wareham ; a son, David B. Towns of Wareham; a brother, Ernest A. Hart of Farmington, Connecticut; two grandchildren, Monica Mears and Kyla Lynch both of Wareham; five great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Centre Cemetery, Wareham.
