Wareham-New Bedford Elks make Christmas a little merrier for veterans

Dec 26, 2017

Christmas arrived early this year for veterans living in Wareham’s Kendrick House. Thanks to the efforts of the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks No. 73, the Kendrick House has a new television, just in time for post season football.

Using funds raised by the Elks’ Veterans Committee and at the Lodge’s weekly meat raffle, members purchased the television, which replaced an older model that was starting to fail. The television was installed a few days before Christmas.

“Many thanks were expressed from all the residents as this was just in time to watch many holiday shows and upcoming sporting events especially football games,” said Lodge Inner Guard Ted Hatch.

The Kendrick House is located at 76 High St. and serves as a residential care home for veterans.
