2-car crash in Wareham results in multiple injuries

A two-car crash on Dec. 26 caused multiple injuries where at least one person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
According to emergency broadcasts, the crash occurred on Route 6 at approximately 12:44 p.m. in front of the Gateway Tavern. Four ambulances were sent to the scene, including one from Marion to treat those injured.
Eversource was also called to the scene to repair a utility pole that had been struck. Both cars suffered heavy front end damage as a result of the crash and were towed from the scene by 1:35 p.m.
It’s unclear at this time how many people were involved or how serious their injuries may be. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
