The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce Annual Breakfast Meeting & Awards Ceremony is set for Jan. 24 starting at 7:30 a.m. at Marriott’s TownePlace Suites, 50 Rosebrook Place, Wareham.

One business and one individual will be recognized at the breakfast.

The Business of the Year has been awarded to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth. The hospital has received national recognition as a Top Hospital by the Leapfrog Group (patient advocacy group) for commitment to patient safety and quality. It is the only hospital in Massachusetts to have received that designation for the last two years in a row.

The Ambassador of the Year has been awarded to Barbara Leone of Aflac.

Leone is in her eighth year with Aflac, with offices in Bourne and Braintree. In her current role as district sales coordinator, she said she is passionate about mentoring agents and motivating them. She and her team service more than 500 companies by educating and providing employees with plans that will help them and their families financially when they get sick or hurt and the unexpected happens.
