Steven E. Gonsalves, 53, of Wareham died Feb. 17 in Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Rhonda L. (Small) Gonsalves and the son of the late Alfred and Antonia (Pina) Gonsalves.

He was born in Wareham and lived in Middleboro and Wareham for most of his life. He graduated from Wareham High School.

Mr. Gonsalves worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Wareham for 29 years.

He enjoyed fishing, barbecues, and pig roasts. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda L. (Small) Gonsalves of Middleboro; his daughter, Mary-Frances Pinedo of Middleboro; his son, Jonathan Pinedo of Middleboro; his lifelong brother, friend and companion, Glenn Barrows of Wareham; three brothers, Alfred Gonsalves of Wareham, Gene Pina of New Bedford and Michael Gonsalves of Fall River; four grandchildren, Lilliana, Violet, Jasmine, and Iris Pinedo all of Halifax; his aunt, Delores Barboza of Wareham; several cousins and friends.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
