Wareham High School Key Club members honored at state convention

Members of the Wareham High School Key Club recently returned from the New England District of Key Clubs 69th Annual Convention, held in Springfield.

Key Club International is the largest community service-based high school organization in the world. Wareham's club has 40 high school students who conduct many service and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Twelve students attended the district convention and brought back ideas for future service projects. In addition, the club received recognition for a number of different efforts. Danniella Cobb, the club secretary earned a first-place award for her monthly reporting. Tori Crockett earned a second place ribbon for her essay on how demographics affect leadership. Alana Nicoletti earned a second place ribbon for her Key Club promotional video which can be seen on Youtube.

The club earned a first place award for its school district-wide collection efforts in support of the Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston, Texas. Finally, the club earned third place honors for overall performance in the school category for all of New England and was recognized as a “distinguished club.”
