Citizen helps lost dog
Dog may be man's best friend, but sometimes it's the other way around.
Carrie Grey said she was on her way to work Monday morning when she found a lost dog off of Bay Road at the Plymouth, Buzzards Bay, and Wareham town lines.
"If it were my little guy I would want someone to help him, so I pulled over. I wanted to get him out of the street," Grey said.
The dog had no collar or tags. After checking with a few neighbors to see if the pup was theirs, Grey said she lured the pup into her car with a sandwich!
"Now I am going to carry dog treats in my car," she said with a laugh.
Grey then took the dog to the Wareham Police Station where he is waiting to be found by his owner.
Grey describes the pooch as weighing between 35 to 40 pounds, brownish-gray in color, and extremely friendly.
If it sounds like your dog, contact the Animal Control Officer at the Wareham Police Station at 508-295-1473.
Grey is also hoping that the owner will notify her at lostdogmass@gmail.com once the pooch is picked up.
