Onset crash sends Jeep into marsh, victims to hospital

Two people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital after a Jeep crashed into a marsh where North Boulevard meets Camp Street in Onset on Tuesday.

According to emergency broadcasts, the crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Reports stated that a man was driving and a woman was thrown from the car. The Jeep crashed through a fence and came to a rest in a creek about 40 yards from the street.

Wareham Police and Onset firefighters responded. The Jeep was towed from the marsh.

The cause of the crash and the victims' conditions are unknown at this time.
