Edward F. Matthews, 70, of Plymouth, died May 18 at his home. He was the husband of the late Judith L. (Quimby) Matthews.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late George E. and Jeannette (Walls) Matthews. Mr. Matthews graduated from Barnstable Vocational School and was heavy equipment operator for Handy Cranberry Company.

He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed work and spending time with his friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Matthews of Plymouth; his son, Drew Matthews of Plymouth, his brother, David Matthews of Onset, and his sister, Carolyn Savarese of Columbus, New Jersey.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, May 23, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, (Route 28), Wareham from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment in Oakland Grove Cemetery, Bourne will be private.
