Wareham man arrested second time in 5 days, charged with possessing drugs

A 48-year-old Wareham man was arrested for the second time in five days after police said he was caught attempting to deal drugs on July 3.

Esequiel Nieves was charged for possession of a class E substance and possession of class B substance after reportedly being caught with pills near 191 Main St.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., police received an anonymous call regarding a man dealing drugs at Besse Park. Detectives were in the area and stopped Nieves, who matched a description givn, near 191 Main Street. A search of the suspect revealed several pills in unmarked bottles, police said.

He was taken to Wareham Police headquarters and then Wareham District Court for arraignment. Police noted Nieves was arrested on Friday, June 29, for having three active warrants.
