The National Weather Service has issued a severe storm warning in Massachusetts for Wednesday, Aug. 21 including Wareham.

Numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms in the early morning are expected to bring heavy rain which may cause brief street flooding in areas of town.

While the National Weather Service predicts storm activity to lessen in the afternoon, it should be noted that there is a greater risk for severe thunderstorms to form during this time with damaging winds.
