New fine dining restaurant coming to Main Street
Hometown meets high class. That is the concept for Cafe Soleil, a new restaurant slated to open at 241 Main Street within the next month.
"We want to give guests a hometown feel in a fine dining setting. Comfort food with a twist,” explained Cafe Soleil owner Leanne Hunt. “It is going to a very affordable: American cafe with a French bistro atmosphere.”
The restaurant will seat 32 people at tables donning white table cloths illuminated with candles. The intimate eatery will serve up comfort food using Hunt’s family recipes. The cooking will be kept in the family too. Hunt, her husband Robert, and son Jordan will be the chefs at Cafe Soleil.
Hunt said the menu will feature a limited number of dishes that will be switched out regularly. She said patrons will play a big part in designing the menu.
"We are about community involvement. We will have a recipe box so people can name and submit recipes. If we like [a recipe], we will feature it as a special for a week and that person can eat the meal for free!" Hunt said.
Cafe Soleil is the family's first restaurant. But Hunt is confident the eatery's unique concept and her 30 years of management experience will be a winning combination.
A Wareham resident, Hunt said she hopes the restaurant will enrich Main Street.
"We are hoping to bring in a variety of crowds," she said. "It's a quiet, inexpensive place to eat before you go out on the town."
On Tuesday the Board of Selectmen approved a business license and a liquor license for the operation. A date for the grand opening has not yet been set.
Hunt said once Cafe Soleil gets going it will be open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner and Saturdays and Sundays lunch and dinner.
