Theresa M. (Bracken) Ferrerio, 79, of East Wareham, formerly of New York, died August 14 in the Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. She was the widow of the late Michael L. Ferrerio and the daughter of the late Patrick and Rita (Patterson) Bracken.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in East Wareham for 13 years.

Mrs. Ferrerio worked as an optometry receptionist for many years before retiring. She often assisted the doctor with procedures.

Mrs. Ferrerio was a foster grandparent at the Wareham Child Care after school program where she enjoyed teaching children how to knit and crochet.

She was the 13^th child of 16. She enjoyed attending programs at the Wareham Council on Aging and Senior Center.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Cathi Cassels and her husband Peter of Wareham, Donna Cella of Pocasset and Rita Milanesi and her husband Frank of Mt. Kisco, N.Y.; 8 grandchildren, Theresa Alvarez of N.Y., Laura Cassels of Wareham, Michelle Paul of Hull, Jamie Guidio of N.Y., Joey DiGuilio of N.Y., Francesca Milanesi of N.Y., Michael Ferrerio of Miami, FL, Sabrina Ferrerio of FL; 10 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Ferrerio of Mashpee; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary DeMarco and Terry DeMuccio of N.Y., a brother-in-law, Angelo DeMuccio of N.Y.; her best friends, Tom Balas of Onset and Linda Landis of East Wareham; and her beloved dog, Julie.

She was the mother of the late Michael Ferrerio,  grandmother of the late Robert A. Policastro and mother-in-law of the late Alfred Cella

Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
