Jeanne M. Skapik, 82, U.S. Navy veteran, homemaker
Jeanne M. (Allen) Skapik, 82, died Saturday, November 12 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the wife of the late Eugene P. Skapik.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Bernard & Marion (Ryan) Allen. After her high school graduation, she attended the New England Conservatory of Music. She moved to Wareham in 1971.
Mrs. Skapik was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict serving from 1950 to 1951. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Karen Spinosa and David Peck both of Wareham, Stephen Peck of Falmouth, Marion White of Marion, Diane Mestieri and Nancy Skapik both of Wareham, Lisa Skapik of Fall River and Michael Skapik of Acushnet; her sisters, Barbara Gruchy of Scottsdale, AZ, Ruth Ahearn of Ft. Myers, FL, Marion Beckwith of Marshfield and Jill Eaton of Decatur, AL.
Her funeral will be Thurs., Nov. 17 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Wed. from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
