Barnstable Deputy Sheriff arrested for alleged road rage in town
Barnstable County Deputy Sheriff Gregory Djaoen, 38, of New Bedford was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and threats to commit a crime, according to State Police.
On Saturday, July 29, State Troopers conducted a traffic stop after receiving a call of a man in a red Ford Explorer tailgating in Wareham on Route 25 eastbound and waving a gun “in a threatening manner,” according to police.
It is currently unclear if the gun found on scene is department issued.
Djaoen was arraigned in Falmouth District Court where he pled not guilty. He was released on personal recognizance and is subjected to pre-trial conditions, including no contact with the victim and no use of his firearm, according to Falmouth District Court.
The Cape Cod Times reports he has been placed on paid administrative leave.
